ATIP03.008: AsiaCrypt 2002

ABSTRACT: AsiaCrypt 2002, which was held in Queenstown, New Zealand, from December 1 to 5, 2002, and organized by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), brought leading mathematicians and cryptographers to the region to debate issues related to global cryptology. Although it is a relatively new conference, with major input dominated by U.S. and European contributors, local interest was high, and the conference is likely to serve as a hub for local development of cryptology and related fields within the region. The present report summarizes the conference and highlights some key presentations.
